It has been a very long time since I've updated my post so I thought I'd give a little update since the last time I posted in August. I moved into my new townhouse and loving it. I found that I couldn't wait to get home from work. I have a small patio with a small amount of dirt so I've been trying to put my landscaping skills into practice and plant some perennials. I also have several pots working trying to make it look nice. I'm still going to school and doing pretty well. I achieved straight A's for two semesters and this past semester, 3 A's and an A-. I still have two years from fall semester before I graduate (2012), but there is a light now at the end of the tunnel.
Another update...on October 6th, 2009, I met a guy :) His name is Mike Evans. We have been dating for almost 8 months now. We are enjoying getting to know each other and I enjoy his company. He loves to fly fish, even ties his own flies and has a lab named Drake.
A couple of weeks ago I was announced the Employee of the Year for Regional Campuses and Distance Education. This was a great honor for me and was nice to be recognized for the work I do. My boss told me I won it "hands down." I had a lot of nice letters written about me for nomination.
Well there's a little update. I'm looking forward to summer and some nice weather. Hope everyone has a great summer.

My New Home
I am finally living the American Dream. I made my first home purchase and so far loving it! It's been fun to decorate and making it my own. I also have a small patio that I am loving. It's small but so nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy with friends. Here are some pictures of the new place. Mind it is still a bit of work in progress.

Mother's Day
I just returned home to Salt Lake after spending the weekend with my family. It's always nice to go home and see family, but even better to get together and celebrate my Mom. She is a wonderful Mom and I want her to know how much I love and appreciate her. She loves unconditional and is always there. Thanks Mom for all you do for me. I love you very much.

The dental implant is in....
Everything went well with the implant. The dentist said he couldn't have been happier with the results. Now I will wait for six months as the post heals and fuses to the bone and then can get my crown put on. It was a bit painful at times, but I let the dentist know so he could hit me up with more novacaine. They punctured a hole in my gum like a cookie cutter, then drilled 3 times making the hole larger each time until he was able to screw the post in place. I've only had to take ibuprofen so far so that's a good thing. Hope no one gets grossed out by the pics. :)

Spring Break and Furlough
I am well over due for a new post so here it is. :) Tonight begins the first day of Spring Break for me. This is my first Spring Break in over 15 years from actual school, but it's also unique because I also will not be working either. Due to budget cuts, USU has mandatory unpaid leave for the next week. So what will I be doing over my week long furlough... well Monday morning at 10:00am I am going in for a dental implant. Some of you may know I have two false teeth and have lived with a bridge for many years. Well the time has come that an implant is needed so I will be getting one of them done on Monday. I am really nervous about the procedure, but the dentist office seems to tell me it's no big deal. I never ever thought I would get an implant as many dentists before have encouraged it for me as well. Having a titanium post drilled into my jaw bone seems to be a big deal to me. Anyway, I hope all goes well and will keep you posted. So besides the implant and recovering, I don't have much other planned.

Winter Wonderland
Christmas was especially rememorable this year because on Christmas night, we received over 2 feet of snow. Although it was beautiful with the sun shining, I think I can officially say... I am sick of winter. :) I don't think it stopped snowing the entire time I was home. It was a nice Christmas despite the weather. It is always nice to spend time with my family. On the 27th my nephew was married so that was an added bonus to the Christmas festivities. Hope everyone had a nice, safe and enjoyable Christmas.
