Drive-in movie

There are few things you learn to do on your own living the single life. One of them is not going to a drive-in movie by yourself. Last Saturday night a married couple invited me to go to the drive-in movie with them and their two children. I thought hey, I might as well, what else do I have going on. My friends told me which movies they were would be attending with the children and to meet them at 8:00pm. Of course I am on time and pick the perfect spot, I kick the seat back a bit and enjoy listening to music as I wait. A few minutes later I get a call from my friend saying that they will not be coming. Panic sets in! What am I do to at a drive in by myself? I called a few friends, called my mom, and talked myself into staying for at least the first movie. First movie, Nim's Island. Not such a hot movie. Second movie, Horton Hears a Who. Well as the night went on, I decided that maybe this wasn't such a bad thing. It was kind of nice to be alone in your car, having control of the sound. My only advice would be to pack extra food. :)

Life in the Big City Part 2

Well my unlucky luck... if that makes sense, is still with me. On March 29, 2008 I went out to my car around noon to start running some errands, only to find out my car had been broken into and items had been stolen. Of course my first reaction was a break down. Next was to call the police. They soon will just start a file for me. :) The police officer came and took pictures and asked questions and also asked what had been taken. The criminals took items that were ridiculous. The completely wiped out my glove box, including my registration and insurance card. They took a sleeping bag, blanket, coolant, umbrella, sunglasses, sunglass visor clip, my money change holder and my cell phone charger. I sure hope they at least made $10 off me. Stupid people!!!! So this week has been consumed with car repair. I am also getting a car alarm installed on Thursday. I've about had enough of criminal mischief.

Life in the Big City Part 1

Some of you may have known about my traumatic experience on February 9th, 2008. At 12:30am, I was laying on the couch, snuggled up in a blanket watching tv when I heard a lot of commotion outside. After listening to it for a few minutes, I got up and looked out my front window. When looking out I noticed a man standing on the sidewalk in front of my window. Just as I pulled away from window, a loud crash of glass came into my condo. I began screaming and asking the guy who he was looking for. He wasn't saying much and continued to break my windows. I immediately called 911 where I tried to compose myself to give them the details of my emergency. As I was speaking to the 911 gentleman, the suspect went around to the other side of my condo and continued to break those windows out as well. The 911 guy, for my safety, told me to go into the bathroom and lock the door. I wasn't sure if the suspect was coming in or not. Soon enough, the police showed up and began asking me questions. As the police officer was here, they located the suspect and arrested and charged with criminal mischief. He had broken out 3 of the 4 windows at my condo and several others surrounding me. I am lucky to have such great friends Andree' and Joe who immediately came over and helped me clean up glass and cardboard my windows. It was very terrifying. It will haunt me for quite some time.
